Symptoms of depression can manifest in your life if you are not be able to cope up with changes positively. A sudden change in your life can cause a great impact especially if it alters your everyday activities. Some people face the problems of losing their jobs and are faced with huge amount of debt, some may experience the breakdown of a relationship, loss of a loved one or face health issues. These events in life are most likely to cause depression if you do not take control of your actions and responses to your thoughts and feelings.
The following are common symptoms of depression:
- Sadness
- Feelings of hopelessness
- Irritability
- Crying episodes
- Isolation or withdrawal from friends and family
- Remarkable loss of interest in activities formerly enjoyed
- Alteration in sleeping and eating pattern
- Concentration difficulty
- Frequent thoughts about death or suicide
Another sign of a major depressive episode is the incredibly low mood. This type of loneliness penetrates into the core of an individual that pervades in his everyday situations. Socialization can be already tremendously affected.
The caregivers or family members of a depressed person must be vigilant in watching the signs of major depression especially if the person has a suicidal tendency. Symptoms of depression may be different in every person but if your loved one shows any or all of the above-mentioned warning signs it is time to seek help.
